It was wonderful.

Our weekend was fantastic. :o)

On Friday night, we went to Lonestar for dinner, and surprisingly ate ALL of what we ordered. It was crazy, there was so much food. I was a bit worried about the time, and possibly getting to the cinema late for our movie. But, as it turned out, we had TOO much time! We got to the restaurant at 5:00, our order had arrived by 5:20, and we'd completely finished by 5:40.

So we drove to the markets just near the cinema, and looked around for a bit. There weren't any toffee apples! I was devestated (okay, that may be an overstatement). So I bought some nectarines to eat in the movie. I'm so healthy! Then we went to the cafe next to the cinema, and ordered a drink each, hoping that would eat away some time. We were still early for our movie.

The first movie, 'Must Love Dogs', was great. I really liked it. There were quite a few sexual references in some parts, but overall a really good movie. As soon as we got out of that movie, we got our tickets for the second movie, and were back in the same cinema within 10 minutes. 'Serenity' was pretty good. It had it's funny parts, and it was action-packed. It's a man's movie, that's for sure. But by that time, I was so tired. I fell asleep during the movie, but kept waking up because I was so uncomfortable.

After the movies, we drove home and went to sleep.

On Saturday morning, we woke up before our alarm. We made some chicken sandwiches for the trip, and packed the eski with cans of lemonade. We set off on our journey. At about the half-way mark, the sun kept shining in my husband's eyes, so we stopped at a petrol station and bought some sunglasses for him. An second pair was only $4 extra, so we got a pair for me, too. I've never been a real sunnies chick, but these look surprisingly good on me. And I've discovered a new, easy hairstyle, in which my hair is just held back by the sunnies on my head. I like it.

We got to the markets at about 1:00. That's officially their closing time, but you'd have been surprised at how many people were there, and how many stalls were still open. The markets were awesome. My husband was amazed at how much art was being sold. Most of the stalls had either something arty, or something homemade. It was great. We really liked some of the paintings, but they weren't cheap (think $200 or so). We'd set ourselves a limit of $6.50 each to spend, but I ended up only spending $3.50 on a large punnet of strawberries. Hubby didn't spend any money at all, which was a welcome change. :o) We looked around at the markets for almost 45 minutes before heading up the coast to our resort.

We checked into the resort, looked around in marvel at the awesome apartment I'd chosen (oh yes, it was fabulous), and then went shopping. We had a list of things to buy for dinner that night, and breakfast the next day, but being the people we are, we bought about ten other things too. Okay, it was all me. I got some more nectarines, some grapes, and some gorgeous mangoes. Oh my goodness, they were delicious. I topped mine with whipped cream. It was divine. But anyway, I didn't have any boardshorts to swim in, and since I was NOT going to swim without boardshorts, we bought some! They were only $10, a real bargain. Guess what size they were? Size 16. That's right. I'm usually a 10. But they fit awesomely, and even have a little bit of growing room. And they're the only pants that fit me anymore. I love them!

So we got back, watched some Nickelodeon, ate some dinner, ate some dessert, watched Legally Blonde 2, went for a swim, and went to bed.

In the morning, we got up before our alarm, again. Don't worry, it's not becoming a trend! We ate breakfast, then checked out. Time for the beach! We drove to the beach, and went for a walk. My husband was so non-beachy, he was wearing denim shorts, his Technics T-shirt, and his keys on a lanyard around his neck. And sneakers with socks. :o) But I was wearing my groovy new boardies. Yay! I was also wearing slip-on shoes, so I could take them off and walk in the water.

BUT, I was wearing a kind of wintery top. And I was hot. So we went to Jay Jays, and I bought a funky singlet for $5. Hubby said that it was actually even cheaper than that, because the lady gave us each a free Chupa-Chup. After that, we ate ice-cream and sat on the beach. Then we went for a drive, just in a random direction, and stopped after a while to find our way home.

Went home, had a snooze, went to church. The end. :o)

It was such an awesome and relaxing weekend. I wish it didn't have to end. Next time, we're definitely going to make it a week. Without the little one. I'm sure we won't be short of babysitting offers!
